Pope Benedict XVI told participants of the plenary assembly of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications that evangelization should take place on the “digital continent”.
In this video uploaded by the Vatican, he noted that such tools must be supported by a consistent outlook of faith. The advent of new technology “supposes a challenge for the Church, which is called to announce the Gospel to persons in the third millennium, maintaining its content unaltered but making it understandable,” the Catholic News Agency quotes him saying in a separate news report.
